Introduction

A group of a half-dozen traveling punks arrived recently, seeking a glade. They brought with them a Yak each, as an offering. The large, hale creatures have useful fur, but their photosynthetic nature means they require a significant amount of water. There has been much discussion around digging a new well to meet the settlement’s increased demands.

What Is Known

A new well is needed, and the Punks are recruited by an Elder to choose a location in the settlement for it. Not every resident is in favour of this.

What Is Inevitable

The well will be created, that is not debated. The complications will have a lasting effect on the community.

Special Rules

The punks may choose a location in Mycircleum for the well. They may ask NPCs present for their opinions by Rolling the World (p. 157, EM) to discover if they are in favour of their choice.

Digging the well is a laborious process - each Punk digging the well will have to make a STR or WIL save or become Deprived until they have a full day’s rest and a good meal.

After this save, roll for a complication, below:

  1. d6+X Spore Children (X = # of Punks) emerge from the ground. They seem deeply agitated.
  2. The Punk to the GM’s left hits a hollow spot, causing a cave-in! Punks fall (d8 damage) into Converted Caves that are: (d3) 1. Lair 2. Bunker 3. Stronghold. Exits into the Outskirts.
  3. Gas begins to seep out of the ground! It is (d3) 1. Poison 2. Strong poison 3. Deadly poison (p.56, EM)
  4. Dormant spores are released from the ground, causing a Vision (p.79, EM)
  5. Roll for Crawlers (p.127, EM) burst forth from the ground and rampage!
  6. Something metallic - roll for a Droid. Roll LCK save. On a fail, the Droid activates and commences its last command.

Aftermath

Water is precious, and more is better, but how will the complication affect the settlement?
