Until a few summers past, Mycircleum remained an isolated and unknown community, with residents asked, but not forbidden, to travel more than a day away on foot. That changed when a group of young people lead by Wind Seeker, made a plea to the Elders to mirror the mycelial network on a larger scale: that is, engage in trade with other settlements for needed materials not found locally, mimicking the way sections of mycelium will trade nutrients to maintain the health of the whole.

The Elders acquiesced despite their wish to remain unknown, seeing the wisdom in the desires of Wind and his cohort. Initially, the Envoys joined other traveling tradesmen and caravans, sharing their burdens in exchange for safe passage through the Wastes.


Their unique and curated spore packets proved a boon for a number of the other hamlets and outposts in the region, and they often returned with useful and novel resources for Mycircleum.

Their mission has proven successful enough that their roles have expanded to include exploration, discovery, geography, geology and more. Similarly, they carry more resources, often setting out as caravans in their own right, fully stocked with spores and other foodstuffs, like the tuber, Secret Friend.
